The information in the Product Register provides the basis for the authorities' fee for monitoring hazardous chemicals. This is a monitoring fee, not a declaration fee.

For chemical products, for which declaration is mandatory, an annual fee has to be paid, cf. the Declaration Regulations (not currently available in English) article 10-13. The Norwegian Environment Agency has been authorized to collect these fees. The fees cover enforcement activities to ensure that companies comply with Norwegian regulations relating to chemicals.

Chemicals that meet the requirements regarding simplified declaration will only have to pay one fee. This will also apply if the chemicals are registered separately, but then the Norwegian Environment Agency will need notification that the chemicals are the same, and that a fee exemption is being requested.

Please see the menu to the left for more information about the Product Register and the duty to declare classified chemicals to the Product Register.
